Beneath its friendly design, the app follows a clear therapeutic sequence: externalising difficult thoughts and creating distance from them; developing emotional and body awareness; and connecting with values and taking committed action. Psychologists and trained adults can guide and adapt this process in response to the young person's needs and the wider psychological formulation.
The Treasure Inside begins with what is strong, not what is wrong. Through playful, interactive activities, young people uncover their character strengths, explore the values that matter to them and connect with a calm, curious ‘Wise Self’ who can help them navigate wobbly days.
Designed for use alongside a trusted adult, the activities draw on ACT, parts work therapy and compassion-focused approaches to nurture self-awareness, self-compassion and everyday resilience. Neuro-affirming and non-pathologising by design, it runs entirely offline on your own device. The Treasure Inside supports meaningful conversation and connection in schools and therapeutic settings; it is not a replacement for therapy or professional care.
