Parts Work Psychology creates interactive, animated tools to support children and young people's social, emotional and mental health. Designed by HCPC-registered educational psychologists in the UK, each resource has a clear psychological process built into every activity, keeping the work purposeful and therapeutically informed.

Our tools are created for psychologists and experienced therapists, as well as the skilled adults holding the gap as SEMH needs rise and waiting lists for mental health services grow. They bring high-quality, psychologically informed support into schools — where children and young people learn, build relationships, discover their strengths and develop resilience.

Every resource is designed to support human connection, meaningful conversations and psychologically grounded practice; it does not replace therapy or professional care.

Grounded in psychology, designed for connection.

How they are used

Made for conversation

These are not worksheets to work through. Their interactive, animated design gives a psychologist, therapist or trusted adult something meaningful to explore alongside a young person — a way into the deeper, sometimes difficult conversations that support mental health, build on strengths and resilience, and help a young person understand and manage their emotions.

Use them in direct work with a child or young person, or to support the adults around them — parents and key adults at school — in using emotion coaching and helping to develop a young person's emotional literacy.

Why it's different

What makes the collection distinctive

Psychology built into every activity

Each tool brings together a collection of carefully designed activities that guide a recognised psychological process, step by step. This keeps the experience purposeful and therapeutic, while still feeling playful and engaging.

Designed by psychologists

Created and reviewed by HCPC-registered educational psychologists in the UK, and informed by CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches, attachment, trauma-informed practice and parts work therapy. Designed to support conversation and connection — not a replacement for therapy or professional care.

Animated and interactive

Animated, responsive activities that go beyond printed worksheets or card decks. Interaction is built into the process: choices and reflections from one activity can shape the prompts, pathways and next steps that follow. Every pathway is designed in advance by psychologists (not powered by AI) — engaging and personalised for the child, while remaining structured and purposeful for the practitioner.

Private by design

Safeguarding and data security are our top priorities. Our tools are designed to work entirely offline: everything stays on the professional's own device, and nothing is uploaded or shared. Optional progress tracking is available only in the offline version, with all information saved locally on that device.

Embracing All Parts of Me

When we experience stress or trauma, parts of us develop protective responses. These aren't flaws — they're adaptations that once kept us safe.

Parts work is about turning towards these inner protectors with curiosity and compassion, understanding what they need, and gently finding new ways forward. Every tool in the collection is built on that stance.

Behind the collection is an integrated approach, developed over years of practice — bringing together CBT, ACT and mindfulness-based practice, attachment and trauma-informed care, and a parts-work perspective drawn from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Trauma-informed Stabilisation Treatment (TIST). Each tool draws on the approaches that best fit its purpose, giving psychologists structure to lean on while leaving room for clinical judgement — designed to be used flexibly, never as a manualised script.

Grounded in established therapeutic frameworks:

CPD & training

Start with CPD

The best introduction to our tools is a CPD session that explores how to use them in practice and the psychology underpinning their design.

Meaningful conversation and connection between a trusted adult and a young person are at the heart of emotion coaching and therapeutic work. Our resources are designed to support this relational work, not simply to serve as standalone activities or interactive worksheets.

Each session examines the psychology and research behind the activities. Practical examples show how they connect and how to select, plan and sequence them, bringing greater depth and purpose to therapeutic work.

Parts Work Psychology began with a simple question: how can we bring quality mental health support into schools, the places where children and young people learn, build relationships, discover their strengths and grow their resilience?

We make animated, interactive psychological tools that help psychologists — and the educators they work alongside — hold warm, meaningful conversations and guide in-depth therapeutic activities with young people. Every tool is designed and trialled in real psychological practice: bringing structure and purpose to the activity without losing the warmth and connection at its heart.
